Alongside my technical work, I am also a music producer with extensive years of experience creating, recording, mixing, and producing music and digital content. Greek Tragedy - a post-graduate film written and directed by Sasha Beggs and produced by Jonah Pobjie. I was the sound supervisor and post-production sound engineer for this film. As the sound-recordist, my responsibilities included capturing high-quality dialogue via boom operation and sufficient lapel mic application.
Throughout the post-production process, my responsibilities included but weren’t limited to importing, mixing, and balancing the audio, along with sound restoration, monitoring and controlling the loudness etc. I ensured to strategically utilise the technique of sound-effects-layering within this project as it was a comedy/drama film that entailed a chaotic nature within the scenes taking place.
Film-Audio Projects:
Pareidolia - a post-graduate film directed by Hayden Roberts. I was the sound supervisor and post-production sound engineer for this film. As the sound-recordist, I was responsible for capturing high quality dialogue and other surrounding foley, sound effects and atmos via boom operation and lapel mic application.
In post, my responsibilities included but weren’t limited to importing, mixing, balancing the audio, sound restoration, loudness control etc. I also played the key role of the sound-effects editor, ensuring every sound effect was sourced ethically and had context within the film to immerse the audience within the realm of the soundscape within this psychological-horror film.
Studio/Music/Audio Projects:
Bonnie Sykes - “It Will Get You” is an Acoustic Pop EP that was inspired by the vintage style and sound set in the 1960’s by artists like Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt etc. I was the Recording and Mixing Engineer for this record. I tracked and processed the vocals, acoustic guitar, bass and drum kit.
“Burn City Kollective” is my own project where I produced all of the instrumentals from scratch (melodies, chords, bass and drums) electronically. Then, I was the recording and mixing engineer and I processed all of the vocals for this album. This album features a variety of highly talented, and versatile artists based right here in Melbourne.
